Dracup

Specialised jacquard patterning machinery

The Dracup name is world-renowned throughout the textile weaving sector for its focus on quality and innovation in providing specialised jacquard patterning systems.

Selvedge jacquard

Among Dracup's best-selling products is the latest HS2000 Selvedge Jacquard for the production of names, logos and other design elements. The product range also includes a sample weaving machine and a seaming unit.

The HS2000 Selvedge Jacquard machine is designed to be horizontally mounted at one end of the weaving machine. It is intended for high-speed operation on modern weaving machines, including projectile, rapier and air-jet types, for the production of names, motifs and symbols in all types of woven fabrics. The device uses fully-electronic selection and can be driven either from the host weaving machine via mechanical linkage or by an integral electronic servo motor. Monitoring and synchronisation between the jacquard and the host weaving machines is managed by the Dracup Loom Controller, which works automatically to ensure that startup errors are eliminated and downtime minimised.

Sample weaving machine

The Dracup Sample Master Weaving Machine allows on-the- spot weaving of sample designs and instant changes to colours and fabric constructions. The machine works by using the jacquard harness for both complex patterns and simpler dobby weaves. Recent innovations on the Sample Master mean it now employs a much faster method of producing samples of striped fabric, of the kind used in suitings, shirtings and curtain materials. Patterns are created and modified on the Dracup CAD system, which has the novel feature of allowing patterns to be rotated through 90 degrees, so that the warp yarns are effectively inserted as weft yarns. This cuts the time and cost of the tying-out process compared to that on conventional looms.

Dracup seaming or fabric joining machines are used mainly in forming fabrics for the paper-making industry. These units offer various jacquard head options, and a range of reed beat-up mechanisms and controls for
