Specialised tufting machines for production and testing
Manufacturer of the Venor range of tufting machinery, used in the production of a variety of end-products, including bathmats, rugs, carpets, cleaning mops, candlewick bedspreads and other specialised applications.
Although these are industrial production machines, they are of use in yarn manufacturers' testing laboratories for shade testing, pile appearance etc. The Venor machines require only 2.6 metres of floor space.
Made to order
The machines are manufactured to order with needles ranging from 1 to 40 or more. All standard tufting gauges (distance between the needles) are available to suit the end-product ranging from 1/10" (2.5mm) for fine gauge carpets to 5/8" gauge (16mm) for candlewick production.
Maximum tufting width is 150mm. This equates to a production capacity of up to 30 square metres of tufted product per hour. Standard pile heights range from 7mm to 48mm. Pile height adjustments of + or - 5mm take approximately 10 minutes.
To increase productivity and reduce operator fatigue, the company offers the optional refinement of an automatic cut-off device. This locks the needles at their top position, allowing the loopers and knives to continue to cut the remaining tufts.
This system allows the operator to remove and replace the tufting cloth without the need to stop the machine and turn the balance wheel by hand.
Fringing machine
Alongside the Venor tufting machines, the company also manufactures the Venor Jet fringing machine, which is based on a twin-needle sewing machine. As the looped fringe is formed, it is immediately sewn on to the cloth. It is ideally suited to the candlewick bedspread, umbrella and cleaning mop industries.
To complement the Venor range of machines, Almond offers customised sewing equipment for overlocking and taping to the bathmat and carpet industries.
